Jameson became a US Champ in the
summer of 2006. It was a thrill watching him in the ring. He is such
a blockhead at home that I was always amazed watching him show. He
is now 6 and still very young at heart. He is very loyal and
insists on being "near" -- sometimes "too near".
Devotion is his middle name (actually it's Frederick after his human
grandfather) and he embraces every embodiment of the term
"companion". He lies by my feet, sleeps by the side of my bed, stays
by my side on our walks. He is an extremely handsome fellow (JMHO).
I find myself just staring at him sometimes and marveling at his
good looks. I just simply love him to pieces.

This is our
youngest redhead, Evan William. (The "William" is after his human step-brother
as they have similar personality traits.) We started referring to him as Stephanie's brother in
short order. He and Steph both share an exuberance for life that
would be envied by most cheerleading squads. Remarkably, he minds
the house rules and tries his very hardest to please. He is
definitely babied by the girls and his mom, Madonna, continues to
mother him by washing his face and ears. He's a weenie boy in
a good way. We walk daily and he trots along beside me off-lead
feeling very special and accomplished. It is a skill that neither
Courtney or Stephanie have mastered.

Jake is now 13 years old. We can't believe it. He is still his independent
little self and needs his world to be orderly and routine. He has
started grunting when he gets up or down. It's a great grunt and it
makes us laugh. He is very hard of hearing and has trouble seeing
but he manages very well and insists on being in the thick of
things. We love him so much as do all our redheads.

miss this little girl so much. The comfort of having a friend has been taken away, but not that of
having had one.

Both Jessica and
Madonna will be 11 years old this year. I just can't believe it.
They have been our "core" for so long. Jessica is our timekeeper.
She knows almost to the second when it is time for breakfast and
dinner and brings it to our attention --daily. She also announces
the bedtime biscuit break. She is utterly adorable and a snuggle
bunny. Although she and Madonna are sisters and either one could
choose to lead, Jessica is perfectly happy to let Madonna handle all
the disciplinary tasks. She hunts a mean rawhide!

to be the head honcho in our sea of redheads. She has her challenges
but continues to hold her own. She rules with low grumbles and the
occasional but fierce bared teeth grin. It's not common but when
these warnings are not heeded, she'll haul off and wrap her jaws
around the head of the offender. She and Vienna have mended their
differences -- the call of the living room couch settled that pretty
quickly. Madonna is showing her age somewhat -- I'm very careful to
type this very quietly. She would be aghast that I even mention it.
She continues to run with the youngest and does a great job of
keeping up. It is only after the adrenaline wears off that she feels
her muscles reminding her that a trot may work best at this stage.

continues to be our social director. She runs our event schedule and
romps from room to room directing "traffic". She and I are trying to
connect as she sprees through the open fields and down the trails.
I'm trying to let her have her "say" and not holler at every
transgression. But, she IS 8 years old and SHOULD be checking back
with me a little more often then she deems necessary. Once she gets
tuckered out, she trots along beside me and I cherish that she has
chosen to spend that time with me. She does watch me as I do my
kennel chores but I think it's only to catch the nuance that I'm
through and ready to go outside for some FUN.

may be having puppies this Spring. I bred her to Jameson during the
2010 blizzard. We were visiting up in Northern Virginia and managed
to get snowed in when Blizzard #2 and #3 rolled through. This was a
split season for her so don't know if she'll actually be a Mom but
we'll wait and see. I keep asking her how her babies are doing and
she remains mum on the subject. We are excited about the thought of
puppies though, it's been since Evan that we've had a litter on the
ground. It's always exciting for us and the redheads when puppies
Courtney is a new Mom! She had 4
boys and 1 girl on August 8th, 2010. Mom and pups are doing great --
the pups are plump.

is a beautiful girl. She is our Rita Hayworth --a real centerfold.
She moves soundly, stacks perfectly (when she's not choosing to
dance) and has a knowledgeable expression. I just love watching her.
She is a little stinker though. She can't possibly walk on-lead
without just a little tugging -- she expects me to keep up. I've
tried keeping up and when we finally get in-synch she just starts
stepping out a little quicker. She does watch me and wants to please
but there is a little part of her that thinks she knows best and
she'll always test. She will always be a little too much for me to
handle in the ring -- I'm not as smart as she is and I've made the
mistake of letting her know it. She is currently visiting Jill
in Canada where she will be earning her Canadian title AND,
hopefully, having a litter of puppies. I am VERY excited about this
breeding and know that Courtney has been anticipating becoming a
mother. Her poor pups will be licked and licked and licked!

is Geneva. I can't believe that she'll be 4 years old this year. She
is absolutely the sweetest little girl. She's a tomboy though and
takes no grief from any of her roommates. She runs with the fastest
boys and spars with the snarkiest girls. She has a very expressive
face and I just know she understands most of everything that I say
to her. She'll be the first to greet me and spends a lot of time up
on her two hind legs to make sure she stands out in the crowd. It's
okay though. She doesn't pounce against my chest, she just stands to
sort of say "here I am". She is my best ball player and, for some
obscure reason, she fetches the tennis ball and actually brings it
back to me and drops it for me to throw again. I was sure that was a
skill that a redhead would never grasp.

This is Heidi who lives in Michigan.
She has a wonderful life there and two really great humans tending
to her every need. She was my pick girl from the Sun litter. She has
been in the ring a few times and performed very well. She reminds me
a lot of her Aunt Jessica.
